It's nothing to do with security...

When politicians want to do something they have a number of tactics at their disposal.

Bribery - tax cuts.

Force - taxation.

Fear - they say they need to do something (usually curtail liberty) to protect us.

Now the EU has said it wants to fingerprint all children from the age of six.

Why?

Not because it wants to be able to keep tabs on everyone and is a backdoor way of creating a huge database.

Oh no, that's not the reason at all.

It is to prevent "child trafficking".

Yes, of course it is. To keep our children safe, we must entrust their details to some enormous organisation that is rife with fraud and corruption.

As Benjamin Franklin said, "They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security."
