Why is Obama using JFK's daughter?

With the news that Barack Obama is claiming victory in the Democrat candidates' race comes the revelation that he has formed a three-member panel to help him choose a running mate.

It comprises Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, daughter of President John F. Kennedy, former deputy Attorney General Eric Holder and Jim Johnson. He performed the same selection task for John Kerry in 2004.

I can see the benefit of having the former deputy Attorney General but why Mr Johnson and why Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg? His input obviously didn't help John Kerry and surely the selection of JFK's daughter is only an attempt to reflect his glory onto Obama.
