Do you wanna be in Jacqui's gang?

It was said of Tony Blair that he never met a bandwagon he didn't like. It seems Home Secretary Jacqui Smith shares the same outlook.

Gary Glitter has been released from jail and what a great opportunity for New Labour to be tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime. Smith has said that she wants to crack down on sex tourists.

On Tuesday she said it was her view that Glitter should be given a Foreign Travel Order banning him from overseas travel. Smith also announced plans to tighten controls on the movements of paedophiles.

Only problem is that Gary Glitter won't play ball by returning to the UK so all this posturing is revealed to be nothing more than hot air...as is so much of what Labour promises.

Government wants all your details... even if you are innocent

The Government has admitted that 39,095 innocent children are on its DNA database for life.

Since April 2004, anyone aged ten or above who is arrested in England and Wales can have their DNA and fingerprints taken without their consent, or that of their parents.

This is absolutely outrageous - the old eastern bloc countries were not as intrusive of their citizenry as this appalling, dishonest government is. The argument if you have done nothing, you have nothing to fear is absolute nonsense. Ask the Guildford Four or the Birmingham Six and yes that was in the days before all this wonderful technology. But ask yourself, do you trust the Government not to make a mistake - who will be the first innocent person to be convicted through "incontrovertible" DNA evidence because buffoon pushed the wrong button or filed the wrong information?

The Government lost the records of 25million people who receive child benefit. Civil service laptops are being lost, it seems, on an almost daily basis.
