Didn't the government tell us that 1) only 20,000 eastern Europeans would come here (not the near 1 MILLION that have arrived), 2) that those that did would fill much-needed jobs (what about the 5 MILLION "economically inactive" Britons?) and 3) that they would be a boost not a drain on the economy?
Why are they entitled to any benefits, having not contributed to the system?
Word has also reached Poland of generous benefit payments to eastern Europeans with children - including a rule which allows workers to claim certain benefits related to children even if they do not travel to Britain and remain in their homeland.
This is utter madness. How can we be giving £145million away to people who have done nothing to earn it? Answer: Because we are in the EU.
