The asbestos scam continues...

A new book is out by Christopher Booker and Richard North. Scared to Death is a round-up of the scare stories that successive governments have used to introduce new laws.

In yesterday's Sunday People were two advertisements by a firm of lawyers called Godloves Solicitors. Unsurprisingly, it was part of the compensation culture. There was an ad for people who may have suffered a skin complaint caused by their new sofa! And also one for victims of asbestos. As Booker and North point out (and as Booker has done many times in The Sunday Telegraph) the asbestos "danger" racket was one of the biggest scams going.
